Coaching a non-profit ceo

In September 2026, I coached Sayyeda Salam, CEO of Concern UK. Over the course of three sessions we looked at a particular dilemma she was facing in her role, and what this represented more broadly for her at this stage of her career.

We examined the time-bound choice she had to make and spent time unpicking the different threads and influencing factors. We created the space for her to understand her fears and motivations and describe the different types of responsibility she was holding.

By the end of the three sessions, she had made a decision and had a plan for how to communicate it to the relevant stakeholders. She also had a deeper understanding of the values and beliefs underpinning the choice and why it had felt hard to make. She had some tactics for how to grapple with similar situations in the future.

“My coaching with Amy over just three short sessions unlocked my thinking and created a deeper understanding of repeated patterns we use to keep ourselves safe. I’m a huge believer in coaching, and I would highly recommend Amy’s thoughtful, considered, and wise approach.”

- Sayyeda Salam, CEO, Concern UK
